Hi, I'm Chiara
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Rome, Italy.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Italy wasn't in the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more substantial.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than anticipated.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the job. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We discovered places that suited us, met other families, and began to build something that felt steady.
Why I Created Cedar Vale Atelier
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Represents (And What It Doesn't)
This site Offers:
- Genuine insights from living in Italy
- A focus on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site does NOT include:
- An official tourism resource
- A paid review platform
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Italy goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Chiara
